Woltica is a social network for families with children. It helps you meet like-minded families and get together outside the home (for a meal, a walk, a trip to the park or a tour of the city), especially when you travel, but in your own city too. It works in your mobile or computer browser, with nothing to download. It also has a free, private space for schools, PTAs and clubs, and another for businesses that run activities for families.
Families
If you have children and fancy meeting other families with children of similar ages, Woltica helps you find them and meet up in public places: a park, an afternoon snack or a walk around the city. Everyone goes back to their own home at the end of the day: Woltica is only for meeting up outside the home.
Three circles for meeting families
- Travelling Families: get to know local families where you're travelling, or meet families visiting your own city.
- My City: families with children near you for everyday plans.
- My Space: the families at your school, PTA or club, in a private space where chatting is always free.
How it works
- Sign up for free and create your family profile.
- Answer a short affinity questionnaire and Woltica shows you which families are the best match for yours.
- Message the family you like and arrange a plan together.
What it costs
Signing up, browsing families and receiving messages is free. When you complete your profile and the questionnaire you get 3 credits. Messaging a family outside your Space for the first time costs 1 credit, and if they don't reply within 72 hours we give it back. Very soon you'll be able to buy credit packs and a travel pass to message the families in a city without using credits.
Your privacy
On Woltica, children's photos and details are never shown, and each family's information is only shared in closed spaces.
Organisations
For schools, PTAs, clubs and other organisations with families. Each one has its own private Space on Woltica, free for ever.
What your Space includes
- Families join with a code, a link or a QR code that you share.
- Families in the Space chat and arrange plans without using credits.
- A dashboard showing how many families have joined, how many are new and which plans are active.
- Materials to spread the word: a poster, a letter, a presentation and images.
- A school trip finder with activities from businesses for your outings.
How to get started
- Create the organisation's account.
- Share the code or QR code with the school's families.
- Families sign up, join your Space and start getting to know each other.
Woltica doesn't charge schools, PTAs or clubs anything.
Businesses
For businesses and self-employed people who run tours, workshops, camps or activities designed for families with children.
What you can do
- List your activities with a description, photos and conditions.
- Receive booking requests from families and schools, and get in touch with them to confirm the booking.
- See your published activities, requests to handle and confirmed bookings at a glance.
How to get started
- Create a business account.
- Publish your first activity. The Woltica team reviews it before it appears on the website.
- Reply to the requests you receive from your dashboard.
Signing up and listing activities is free, with no monthly fee. Woltica charges the business 15% of each booking a family makes with it through Woltica. Separately, there's an optional €8-a-month service to appear as a featured business or to feature a discount code.
